According to Nhung et al. 2007, DNA-DNA hybridization results and phylogenetic analysis support the results given by Huys et al. 2005 to justify the recognition of Aeromonas culicicola as a later heterotypic synonym of Aeromonas veronii. Thus, this strain should not be mentioned as the type strain of Aeromonas culicicola because of Opinion 81 in IJSEM.
« The Indian Government adopted a regulation arising from the Nagoya Protocol (Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization to the Convention on Biological Diversity). This strain falls within the scope of said regulation, as such its access is subject to specific formalities. Therefore, any researcher who wishes to obtain this strain from the CIP has to create an account on the National Biodiversity Authority of India (NBA) website and fill in Form I: http://nbaindia.org/content/26/59/1/forms.html. The NBA approval obtained following your request on the NBA website shall be added to the other documents requested by the CIP in order for the strain to be transferred to your laboratory. In the case the NBA does not require you to fill in said Form I, please send to the CIP an email warranting that the filling of the form is not needed in your situation. Such email is requested by the CIP in order for the strain to be transferred to your laboratory »
